Home Pack. Parents are always looking for new and engaging ways to keep children interested and attentive. Talking Dice have proved to be a great hit in homes around the world. The following will give you a sound understanding of how they can be used and the endless possibilities.

The Dice

Each of the 18 topics contains six identical picture dice. The dice topics were chosen to follow the National Curriculum. They can be rolled singularly or in endless combinations of different topics.

The Concept

Talking Dice were designed to help with language and literacy skills, either spoken or written. Games and exercises have been developed that help children of all ages and abilities with their vocabulary, sentence building, grammar, story telling & writing, alliteration etc. There are enough activities in the books to fill a class year. Talking Dice also help boost children's confidence and have shown to increase retention. They are picture dice, so can be used to teach any language, whether that be first or second language.

Game idea: 'Feeling' adjectives

Children are asked to identify words that express feelings. In this way they can determine the difference between adjectives - these clearly being emotive. Any of the Talking Dice topics could be used. However, many of the words from the brainstorming session may not be appropriate to some of the topics. For example, frightening would be a difficult word to link to clothing. Therefore, children are encouraged to write down any new words they think of during the exercise and you may choose to offer a selection of dice for children to choose from. Children can work alone, in pairs or in small groups. The Home Pack contains one die from each of the 18 topics. It enables you to find out which of the topics are relevant to your children so that you can add to your collection later on.FANTASTIC TRAVEL GAME - with no batteries !! )
