Lab Investigation. Game-like format simulates the natural selection that occurred in peppered moths! Your children will learn the key steps of natural selection as they simulate what occurred in the peppered moth population as the environment changed in England during the Industrial Revolution. Children are provided with backgrounds that simulate the colour of various tree trunks along with peppered moth cut outs. They'll find that as the tree trunks darkened, the darker peppered moths were more likely to survive and reproduce.
