Lab Investigation Isolate & observe actual DNA in your home! Most may think that it is impossible to see DNA with the naked eye. With a little help, though, they can actually do just that! Your children will use a simple and quick method to isolate DNA and observe its physical characteristics using a variety of sources, including onion, liver, thymus gland, wheat germ and others.

Your children will:

• Isolate and observe DNA from onion cells and describe its appearance
• Identify advances and uses of biotechnology. Debate the risks and benefits.
