Active World Arctic Mat

Quick grab your coats, it's freezing outside!

Move amongst reindeer, polar bears and their young, 'bob' with the seals in the freezing water and watch out for the whales in our new addition to the Active Worlds Landscapes range.

Use ice cubes, snow, glitter, white gravel and snow matting to really set the scene.

Memory Challenge (Memory and naming vocabulary) A sparkling idea for: using vocabulary that goes with a particular environment and practising memory skills.

You will need: * Active World Mat * 6 objects or picture cards which go with the Mat * 6 cups/beakers for hiding objects

How to play: Place all the objects out on the Active World Mat however you want. Player 1 starts by saying, "I went to the... (place of activity mat e.g. Playground/ farm/ Arctic scene) and I saw a... (Choose an object from the selection). He/she takes that object off the mat and places it to one side. When Player 1 has said their sentence, a beaker is placed over the object to cover it. Player 2 then says, "I went to the...and I saw a...(first object) and a... (choose another item from the mat). The new item is placed to the right of the first item and covered with another beaker. Players continue, trying to remember all the covered objects on the list. How many can they get?
