"I am delighted to see a Website such as Keen2learn. It is easy to use and fills a vacuum in the market, providing a superb range of products and solutions for children to access and use outside normal school time. Each product is cross referenced to the National Curriculum making selection of the right product easy.

In addition to being a father and grandfather I have spent over 30 years in the Schools supply market as Chief Executive of a major educational supplier to Schools of products, teaching materials and solutions for curriculum areas including Control Technology, ICT, Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

During this time I worked very closely with Industry and Commerce facilitating their integration with the work of Teachers in the class room. The work of keen2learn will create a paradigm shift in the opposite direction, helping to integrate the work of Teachers with Parent Teacher Associations, After School Groups and Parents at home.

The future success of Education in Schools is going to be greatly enhanced by the involvement of parents in providing their children with much needed resources which they can use at home and in the classroom. Children love practical projects as evidenced by their willingness to stay behind after normal school hours, working on practical projects gaining many hours of enjoyment, a feeling of achievement and satisfaction from applying their practical skills and knowledge.

I am sure many children and parents will find product sourcing using keen2learn a very rewarding pleasure."

"As a parent of a pre-school child and a recently qualified primary school teacher I am wholly in support of the keen2learn website.Times have changed significantly since I was at school and keeping up with current teaching and learning trends is not easy even with insight into teaching practices. Keen2learn is particularly innovative because it directly links into the National Curriculum, allowing a user to select the appropriate material for the development of a given child. In today's large class sizes or even in small rural schools with mixed age groups, differentiation is the buzz-word, but with keen2learn a user can choose the products best suited to their child, irrespective of their age or key-stage, allowing them to play 'catch-up' or to extend the more gifted child.

The site is easy to navigate and has a section dedicated to 'teacher-speak' to help the user understand the terminology and therefore be more in tune with the child's own school experience. Pressure is great for children to keep up with set targets and many demands are placed upon the school to help children achieve. Whilst schools (and teachers) naturally have an obligation to elicit the best from their pupils, I have always been a firm believer that a child will benefit greatly with additional input from home, even from a pre-school age - keen2learn supports this viewpoint. Knowing that the resources on offer link directly to those being used in schools gives added confidence to the user."

"As a teacher of year 1 and 2 children, I consider the role of parents to be vital in the education of their children. However, there have been many changes to the education system over recent years, and an increasing number of parents have questions about the curriculum, they are unsure about how their children are being taught in school, and they also want to identify the best ways that they could provide additional support and encouragement.

There is unfortunately, very limited additional time that teachers can find to spend with individual parents to meet this demand on an on-going basis, and the development of an informative website such as 'keen2learn' offers the potential to become a very valuable resource. I can see that it would provide a very wide range of appropriate products directly linked to curriculum support and development, and offer the following benefits:

Parents will be able to search the keen2learn database to find out for themselves which products / activities will be most suitable to provide extra support for their children in areas where weakness has been identified

Parents will also be able to access products and information to provide additional resource and challenges for their children to encourage the further development in areas which have proved to be of particular interest or strength

The keen2learn website is well laid out, easy to understand at all levels, and most parents will have no trouble at all to navigate around the information access points

The keen2learn website provides access links to other key information bases, such as - 'parents centre' and the 'QCA website' which will answer questions which many parents ask, offering best practice and further advice and suggestions regarding helping their children at home."
