Yes! for 4 Keen2Learn
Yes! for Keen2LearnThe Young Entrepreneurs Scheme (YES) provides sixth form schoolchildren the opportunity to participate in a business project and potentially spark the ability to develop as entrepreneurs in their own right. keen2learn recently sponsored a team of 10 sixth formers from the Armthorpe Secondary school in the Scheme. The team was set a business challenge to research, analyse, and present their recommendations before a judging panel from the local Chamber of Commerce, YES and the sponsoring companies.Stuart Owens Director of keen2learn said, “It was a great opportunity to provide these sixth formers with a live business situation in order to give them some experience of the world beyond school. We adopted a Poacher turned Gamekeeper approach which requiring the team to develop novel means of promoting the keen2learn operation to themselves and parents! As they represent the target market for keen2learn’s extensive range of learning products, it was a unique opportunity to hear how actual customers see the best way to sell to themselves”.The teams spent two months researching the project, exploring options and analysing the facts, culminating in the preparation of the report and the presentation to the judges. The Armthorpe team did exceptionally well reaching the finals of the competition, and wining a special award for the best overall presentation.
