Hands on as well as hands up
Modern teaching tools and educational games are designed by educational experts to provide the hands-on experience essential to effective learning and child development. From spelling games; maths games; literacy games through to GCSE revision packs they provide an enjoyable approach to learning. They also lead to the development of confidence sometimes untapped in the clamour of a busy classroom.
Ask any child how they learnt how to operate a mobile phone, MP3 player, computer or games consol. Probably not just from looking at a whiteboard at the front of a classroom or the hand book. The key is spending time operating the unit themselves practicing until their confidence builds up, and then of course they need a new phone as they have outgrown all the features of that “old” one. Think how their confidence can be built using educational toys that are curriculum approved to complement the key stages, and give your child the greatest opportunity in any future assessment.
